In 1996 Christopher Thomsen served on the NABP Task Force on Automation and was instrumental in developing the appropriate language for the NABP Model State Pharmacy Act and Model Rules.
In 1998, Mr. Thomsen testified in an Oregon State Congressional Hearing and played a pivotal role in the "ground breaking" Oregon State Board of Pharmacy Law that now requires descriptive drug information on every prescription label.
In 2001, Mr. Thomsen was issued a US Patent (Patent Number 6,318,630) for the development of an automated pharmacy workflow system and has testified before the FDA regarding the medical and pharmaceutical Bar Code Regulations and Requirements.
The ThomsenGroup was founded in 2002 to provide outpatient, community and mail order/refill center pharmacies, technology, pharmaceutical and distribution companies with a better understanding of how technology and automation impacts the business and practice of pharmacy.
Christopher brings more than 25 years of global experience to the areas of
business development, technology design and analysis, sales and marketing
and research.

Christopher has been instrumental in helping both entrepreneurial and publicly held companies, throughout North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia, to create value and establish their products and presence in both domestic and foreign markets.
Mr. Thomsen is a member of the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy Industry Advisory Board and serves on the Planning Committees for the FMI and the NACDS.
Christopher Thomsen has researched and written Negotiating the Maze - a comprehensive review and assessment of all automation and technology related to the outpatient and retail pharmacy market - now in its Third Edition and more than 5,000 copies distributed throughout the world.
